The 2015 inaugural PADI Women’s Dive Day was a resounding success as the global PADI family came together with friends, family and newcomers on a day of diving dedicated to women with events in 65 countries on all seven continents. More than 300 events (and growing by the day) are already scheduled this year.
It’s not too late to join in. Become an integral part of PADI Women’s Dive Day on 16 July 2016 by following these simple steps:
1. Pick an event.
This could be as simple as hosting fun dives or as involved as an underwater fancy dress party. There are no limits to inventiveness but consider keeping it simple if time is an issue. PADI Dive Centers and Resorts can list their event on padi.com by going to the Pros’ Site and signing up under My Account. All PADI Members can take part in and host events.
2. Promote the event.
It’s never too late to build excitement. Digital channels let you spread the word right up to the last minute. Tie in to PADI Regional Headquarters’ promotions that will drive divers and nondivers alike to the padi.com/women-dive page. Tag your social media photos, videos and posts with #padiwomen so your event appears on the PADI’s Women’s Dive Day social feed. Encourage your divers to do the same, and ask them to tag you as well. Use the customizable PADI Women’s Dive Day marketing materials on the Pros’ Site for email, print, online and in-store advertisements. They help you create a fancy, fun message fast.
3. Follow up with everyone.
A simple thanks goes a long way and keeps divers engaged and encourages them to continue diving. Remember to include links, telephone numbers and a call to action in all your messages.
4. Most importantly, have fun.
Passion and enthusiasm for diving is contagious. Don’t miss out on this chance to share yours.
